Business owners see labor costs rising by about 17 billion euros in 2023

Due to tight labor markets and high inflation, businesses will face sharply rising labor costs in 2023. In 2022, collective bargaining wages already rose 3.2 percent; it was the largest increase since 2008. This year, labor costs are expected to rise by as much as 6.1 percent. For the entire business sector, this will lead to an increase in labor costs of about 17 billion euros, according to calculations by ABN AMRO. Meanwhile, lower consumer purchasing power and rapidly rising interest rates are causing the economy to cool.

Own home does not go to box 3

Climate Action Plans

Last Wednesday, April 26, 2023, Climate and Energy Minister Rob Jetten held his first climate press conference. It is intended that a series of such press conferences will follow. In them, he will update us on the implementation of climate plans. A €35 billion climate fund has been established by this administration. Of this, €28 billion is now earmarked. It is therefore good that society is informed about the progress of the implementation of the plans. Mind you, this has nothing to do with the nitrogen crisis. It is about combating global warming, especially through CO2 emissions.

Tax Office suspends processing final assessments and objections box 3 income pending Supreme Court rulings

The Tax Office has announced that it is temporarily suspending the processing of final assessments for 2021 and 2022 relating to box 3 income. This specifically concerns assessments where the box 3 income consists of more than just bank deposits, such as income from shares or real estate. In addition, the processing of objections regarding box 3 income for the years 2017 through 2021 will also be suspended.

As many of you know, since January 1, 2018, we shared our office building with our tenants from James Robinson. After 5 years of pleasant cooperation, the rental agreement has come to an end. The reason is that we simply outgrew each other, which is obviously a positive development from both sides.
