Ruud Gijsen

I was born and raised in (Northern) Limburg. After some wandering around the world, I landed in the Maastricht region some 20 years ago. I combine an inspiring business law practice with an equally inspiring private life. With my wife and 3 daughters, we discover the world and learn from and about each other every day. And, don't get me started on music or guitars, because you won't be rid of me yet.

Typical case of “never thought of, become”. After six months at Columbia University Lawschool in New York at the end of my law studies at the University of Amsterdam, I ended up at a medium-sized law firm in the Veluwe area via an internship at a “Zuidas” firm. There I trained as a lawyer. Seven years later, instead of a partnership there, I opted for my own firm and established Advocatenkantoor Gijsen in Maastricht. There I still assist business and private clients in civil matters, especially in the field of all kinds of business issues, labor law and contract law.

What is that anyway?In any case, providing assistance is very different from “standing by.”From me, clients can expect an active and advisory attitude.Preferably side by side in the sense and with advice, but if I have to, I just lay down in front of them to prevent problems or worse.
